Lady Miners lose first match

LLinton-Stockton's volleyball team fell from the ranks of the undefeated after losing a 25-15, 25-18, 25-17 decision at Loogootee Tuesday night.

It was the first loss in four matches for the Lady Miners.

Senior Megan Barnes finished with one ace, six kills and seven digs.

Bradlea Beard, a sophomore, collected 12 assists, one kill, two blocks and four digs. Izzy Carpenter tallied one ace, one assist, four kills and eight digs.

Senior southpaw Brittany Rehmel was credited with three kills. Taneal Church, another senior, had four kills and three digs.

Kelsy Foglesong was credited with seven digs and a kill while Savannah Mason had a team-high 12 digs to go with one ace.

Tricia Emmons finished with two kills, one block and one dig. Samantha Butt added one assist and one kill.

Loogootee also won the JV contest, 20-25, 21-25. It was the first loss after three wins for the Lady Miners.

JV statistics included: Sydney Lehman: 1 kill, 1 dig; Alex Daluga -- 5 of 6 serving, 1 ace, 4 kills, 10 digs; Kelsey Andis: 5 of 5 serving, 1 ace, 8 digs; Kayla Cox -- 9 of 9 serving, 1 ace, 3 assists, 3 kills, 6 digs; Samantha Butt -- 4 of 4 serving, 3 kills, 5 digs; Jannae Jackson -- 4 of 6 serving, 4 digs; and Hali Murray --10 of 10 serving, 1 aces, 5 assists, 3 kills, 3 digs

The Lady Miners will host Washington Catholic Thursday.
