He was born April 28, 1921 in Martin County to Paul Chattin and Mamie (Allen) Chattin
He married Doris (Beard) Chattin on October 12, 1941 in Decker Chapel, Ind. She died on
October 23, 1999
He was a retired farmer and Sunday school teacher and member of the Jasonville United Methodist Church. He sang in several gospel quartets and was active in the church choir.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Pam Chattin of Jasonville; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bill Miller of Jasonville; a sister, Betty Dixon; grandchildren, Jeremy Chattin and wife Angel, Brandon Chattin and wife Juanita, Candra Brunson, Jesse Chattin, Dorian Sibray and husband Ryan.; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lukas and Neil Chattin, Briley and Katelyn Chattin and Alexis, Halle and Jolee Brunson
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Hubert and Ralph Chattin; and his wife, Doris.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Jasonville United Methodist Church on South Meridian Street in Jasonville and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Services will be conducted by Rev. David Deal at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jasonville United Methodist Church in Jasonville
Rev. Carl Leth will officiate at the graveside service at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
Arrangements care being handled by McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
