Linton police make two weekend arrests on warrants

Monday, August 18, 2008

Linton police arrested two men over the weekend who were wanted on warrants. One arrest was the result of a traffic stop and the other was the result of a tip to Crime Stoppers.

Darryl W. Moore, 28, Linton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday as a result of a traffic stop.

An officer observed an off-road vehicle disregard a stop sign at the intersection of 3rd St. S.E. and E. Vincennes St. then recognized the driver as Moore.

The officer was aware of a warrant out for Moore's arrest so Moore was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail without incident.

Moore's warrant was an attachment out of Greene Circuit Court for delinquent child support.

Moore is being held on $500 bond with no ten percent allowed.

LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes, the arresting officer, was assisted on the scene by LPD Patrolman Jayson Smith.

Bobby L. Sinders, 27, Dugger, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Bottom's Up Bar on E. Vincennes St. after police received a Crime Stoppers tip that Sinders was in the bar.

Police determined there was an active warrant out of Greene County for his arrest for failure to appear in connection with a charge of driving while suspended.

He was transported to the Greene County Jail without incident where he was being held on $5,000 bond.

LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes, the arresting officer, was assisted on the scene by LPD Patrolman Jayson Smith.

Is the Bottom's Up Bar the same thing as the Uptown? When did the switch happen if it happened? Just kind of curious...:)

I'm surprised the police responded to a call. Must have been a slow night. The couple of times I called the local and county police, I got very little help. One time they never even responded, not even a phone call. If I need help, I'm better off calling a neighbor or friend than calling our law enforcement.

Having known both of these people growing up, I cannot say that I am surprised.
