Leslie (Ray) and Phyllis Hardesty will be married 50 years on Aug. 30. Their children would like all friends and family to mark their calendars now and plan to join together for a celebration on Aug. 31.

The event will be from 1-5 p.m. at the Linton Housing Authority Community Building on NW 15th Street in Linton.

No gifts please; however, come prepared to share your memories and stories in a scrapbook to be provided. A light lunch as well as other refreshments will be provided.

Ray and Phyllis were married Aug. 30, 1958 at the Baptist Church Parsonage in Linton by the Rev. Royden Rea. Marilyn (Vaughn) Young, Charles William (Bill) Boone, and Susie (Harrison) Horton stood up with them.

Linton has been their home during the entire 50 years.

They have two children, Vertis (Charlotte) Hardesty of Linton and Jada Haldeman (Heidi Stineman) of Greenfield. They have two grandsons, Chris (Rachel) Hardesty of Worthington and Nathan (Nicole) Hardesty of Cincinnati, Ohio. Ray and Phyllis also have two great grandchildren, Questyn and Lillian (and one more great grandbaby due in September).
