Friday, July 18, 2008
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that State Road 59 (SR 59) south of Linton will be resurfaced this summer. The $1.1 million contract was awarded to Poindexter Excavating of Indianapolis, Indiana during the May 2008 letting.

Work will be taking place during daytime hours and a flagman will be used to direct traffic through the construction zone. It is anticipated motorists may incur delays while traveling in the area.

When are the raising the roadway for the Goosepond project?

This is the raising of the roadway for the Goosepond if I understand it correctly. They are also suppose to add nice shoulders to the road for pull-offs.

If you look at the distance they are going to resurface (paint and survey markings) $1.1 million will only be resurface money, not raising the surface of the roadway to allow for water accumulation.

I just wonder, are they gonna resurface now then go back and raise the road and resurface again?

I wasn't aware that the highway was so terrible, I know I've drove on many other State owned highway's that are far worse! Does anyone know, What the purpose is for this now?
