The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has issued an Air Quality Action Day for Greene County because ozone levels may become high enough to be unhealthy for some groups of people.
Children, the elderly and anyone with cardiac or lung problems is advised to avoid exertion and heavy work outdoors.
IDEM officials also says that outdoor activities be scheduled for early morning or late evening when ozone levels typically are lower.
Greene is one of eight southern Indiana counties for which an Air Quality Action Day has been declared for Friday. The only other area county included is Jackson.
IDEM makes declarations for counties where the state has equipment to measure the amount of pollution in the air.

I say we start releasing sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere to help reduce our planet's levels of this horrible trioxygen allotrope; it will come back as harmless oil of vitriol.
Won't someone please think of the children?!
makes you wonder why the bloomfield town officials scheduled to burn trees and limbs during the worst air quality month of the summer. duh!!!!!
Oil of vitriol is sulferic acid, right?
PMU I hope that was meant as a bit of
dark humor.
Mr. F:
Yes ;)
I will be surprised if anyone is still alive, IF the ozone levels MAY become high...
Oh wait, I think we lived...
