He retired as a stock chaser from Allison's Transmission after 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II under General George S. Patton's Third Army. He participated in the D-Day invasion, the Battle of the Bulge, and earned a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Aldergate United Methodist Church and of the United Auto Workers.
Survivors include: his wife of 66 years, Bonnie L. Blevens; a son, Keith Bleven and his wife, Valda Monroe' a granddaughter, Mattie Blevens; a sister, Joan Bedwell of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Flanner-Buchanan Funeral Center-Decatur Township with visitation from 5 -9 p.m. Wednesday.
Entombment will be at Washington Park North Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Aldergate United Methodist Church.
