He was born on Jan. 4, 1927 in Linton, the son of Wayne and Leta (Turner) Corbin.
He worked as a bank teller in his hometown of Linton and later for Owosso Savings Bank for 20 years, becoming their vice president and branch manager. He then managed Johns Sport & Marine for 15 years. He later was a sales rep for Stechschulte Gas & Oil.
He graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1945. On October 16, 1949 he married Gloria Fisk in Linton.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; three sons, John G. (Lonnie) Corbin of Kalamazoo, Brent D. (Rosemary) Corbin of Henderson, and Scott M. (Cindy) Corbin of Elsie; six grandchildren, Joel (Ronda) Corbin, Trevor (Brandi) Corbin, Rachel Corbin, Lisa (Clint) Powell, Tyler Corbin, and Mallory Corbin; four great-grandchildren, Trista, Zachary, Evah, and Natalie; brother, Doug Corbin of Linton, Indiana; and sister, Mildred J. Coltrin of Reno, Nevada.
He was preceded in death one brother, Wib; and his parents.
The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 3 to 7 p.m.
