INDIANAPOLIS -- Three communities in House District 45 on Monday received a total of $1.5 million for infrastructure improvements.
Bloomfield, Odon and West Terre Haute each received $500,000 from the Community Focus Fund in a Statehouse ceremony Monday afternoon.
Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman and other state officials attended the ceremony where $14.4 million in Community Development Block Grants were distributed to communities throughout the state.
Bloomfield officials plan to use the grant for downtown revitalization.
Odon will use its grant for the Senior and Community Center and West Terre Haute will use its grant for storm water improvements.
"I'm tickled pink for the residents of Bloomfield, Odon and West Terre Haute," said District 45 Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville). "These communities made it clear that these improvements were darned important to them. The state has agreed, and so do I. The lives of every family in these communities will be vastly improved as a result of these grants. For the citizens of West Terre Haute, in particular, this grant will help avoid some of the flooding that so recently devastated many of their lives."

Congratulations Town of Bloomfield. Now with all the improvements coming it is important that the Town Council hold all Business Owners to the fact that they have to improve the looks of their respective properties.
OUTSTANDING -- way to go Bloomfield. Hey Jo Ann - Gary says Hello -- from back in the 4H days -- Just like it was yesterday instead of the 70's. Really I am happy to see the money coming back to the local area. Use it wisely and is if it was out of your pocket. Do not waste it.
Congrats again to all.
