BREAKING NEWS: Linton youngster drowns in Illinois pool

Monday, June 30, 2008
CHAMPAIGN, ILL. -- A 3-year-old Linton boy died in a reported drowning incident Monday afternoon, according to a news release issued by Champaign County (Ill.) Coroner Duane Northrup.

Wyatt Daniel DeJesus was pronounced dead at 1:16 p.m. (CST) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.

The Greene County boy was transported to the hospital from an address at the 4300 block of Brittany Trail Drive in Champaign after firefighters responded to the home at 12:34 p.m. (CST) for a child in a pool.

Champaign police and Northrup's office are investigating how the boy came to be in the pool and the cause of his death.

"The cause of death is pending autopsy findings and an inquest may be held at a later date," Coroner Northrup stated.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. (CST) Tuesday in Bloomington, Ill.

No other information about the incident was released on Monday night.

I'm sorry I just re-read your question. She didn't say anything about being a lifeguard. Heading to bed now since all my kids are asleep now.

She did, but her comment was deleted. I really wish I copied down what she said.

Could anyone tell me if 'AMyers8289' said anything about being a lifeguard? This person could be a possible co-worker of mine, and I would be very interested in her comment...

You know AMyers8289, these parents are going to have to live with the fact they lost their child for the rest of their lives, they don't need to be judged for this tragic accident. You don't know all the details so please lay off the parents and whoever else was involved.

Again to the family of this young boy, I'm so sorry for your lost and I hope that you are given the strength to get though this rough time in your lives.
