There's still plenty to do at 2008 Linton Freedom Festival

Monday, June 30, 2008

There's plenty to do for all ages during the 2008 Linton Freedom Festival.

The traditional week long of summer fun kicked off last Saturday and will run through July 5.

In a brief interview on Monday, Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce President Cheryl Hamilton explained, "Everything is smooth so far...Everything is as well as to be expected."

But to continue with the smooth start the Chamber needs your help.

With that said, Hamilton offered a few reminders.

During the parade, please use common courtesy, she noted.

"Use the (trash) barrels which will be set up along the parade route," she said.

Also when driving to and from the parade area please note that several roads are blocked.

"Make sure you abide by the barricades that are set up along the route to protect the parade participants," Hamilton said.
