Sign of the Times?

By Nick Schneider This marquee sign in front of the Lyons First Christian Church on Broad Street pretty well sums up the weather and natural disasters that have struck Greene County and parts of Indiana in recent weeks. It does make a person think.

I love it. Poke a little at "organized religion" and the nutty- ness comes out. Hey Nutty, the Bible was written by man. It wasn't like there was a rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning and BRRZAAAP there was a bible suddenly smoldering on a rock.

Yes these events have been happening since the beginning however, they are growing more and more frequent in places that have had few floods, tornadoes and earthquakes. People who think this is actually just circumstance are DEAD WRONG.

Open your bible and read Jesus' own words to his diciples in Matthew Chapter 24. This is all part of his end times plan for all of us, it is a wake up call. Christ literally was born, literally died, literally arose from the dead and will literally come back again! and things like these weather patterns are warning signs he gave to us to let us know that Time is at hand! Dont be fooled by secular humanistic thinking,Jesus is the only way to heaven! Believe it or not! He is the way, the truth and the life!

Read it for yourself!

nice post Zenos!

Fear is good for business.

I would suppose that, aside from placing a catchy saying on their sign, the Lyons First Christian church is doing other things to help the needy during these times of crisis.

Let us pray they are.

I'd like to know if the HUMAN who put this sign up is also presumptuous enough to suggest what, if anything, God is trying to say! Disasters have been happening for the ENTIRE COURSE OF HUMAN HISTORY and usually in a random pattern. Displays like this exemplify something I dislike about organized religion. They're taking "advantage" of people's suffering in order to promulgate their own agenda. Their line of reasoning is not too far off from the one that suggests America "deserved" 9-11, and we KNOW that's a load of crap. Why can't there be a sign that says something like "Sunshine, growing things, your child's first words...Can you hear me now?"

I'm glad the world ended last time we had floods, hurricanes, terrorist attacks, earthquakes, meteor strikes, solar eclipses, colored rain, locusts, and everything else bad.

Surely we are not a superstitious people.

I would hope my fellow citizens of Greene County are more educated then that.

These things are natural and happen all the time.

"God" created them as part of the natural ecosystemic funtioning of the planet.

I would hate to think that this place is still mired in the dark ages.

No GOD - No Peace

Know GOD - Know Peace

I agree with several of these postings. If you read and understand the Bible. There will be fewer questions about why these events are taking place.

Pray for salvation for His coming is closer than you think!!

Read the Bible King James version of Revolations and look at the world today, then see where we are headed. That will make you think.
