Born in Indianapolis, he had been a resident of Jupiter for 19 years. He formerly lived in Greenwood.
Prior to retirement, he was an operations manager with Underwood Transfer Company in Indianapolis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the nuclear submarines during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Thompson of Jupiter; a daughter, Dawn (Richard) Snyder of Greenwood; brother, Mark (Leslie) Thompson of Martinsville; and two granddaughters, Shelbi and Delaney; the son of Ernest (Hatherine) Neumeyer of Worthington, Robert (Mabel) Thompson, and Betty Abel, Indianapolis; and three sisters.
