Born Nov. 28, 1937 in Jackson, MO, he was the son of Henry James Dorman and Edna Irene Smith Dorman.
A U.S. Army veteran, he retired from General Electric in Linton after many yeas of service as a machine operator, Hunter was a Past President of the Jasonville Horseshoe Club. He was a five-time Indiana Horseshoe Champion and three-time AAU National Horseshoe Champion. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth E. (Runyan) Dorman, of Jasonville; daughters, Pamela Wilson of Belleville, WI, Peggy and Larry Connaway of Evansville and Elizabeth Dorman of Jasonville; sons, Hunter L. and Lavon Dorman II of Bedford, James Dorman of Indianapolis and Daniel and Cheri Dorman of Cleveland, TN; sisters, Darlene and Joe Kennedy of Ohio and Diane Dorman of Indiana; brothers; twin brother, Howard and Joyce Dorman of Bloomfield, James and Phyllis Dorman of Kentucky and Fred and Wanda Dorman of Indiana; a sister in-law: Pat Dorman of Indiana; four granddaughters; seven grandsons; and great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph Dorman; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Tom Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
