Wendy R. White Norris, 26, was arrested for resisting law enforcement and criminal recklessness after driving with a passenger on her vehicle hood and failing to stop for law enforcement.
She was arrested on May 14 by Greene County Deputy Jeremy Inman after he noticed a "young, white male sitting on the hood" of a Pontiac traveling east on Spring Street in Bloomfield.
According to the probable cause filed in Greene County Circuit Court on May 15, when Inman tried to pull the vehicle over the driver refused to stop.
Soon after, the vehicle was found in a parking lot near Judge Street but its occupants had fled, the affidavit said.
After a search of the area, Wendy R. White Norris along with her car-surfing passenger, Blake Lake, were found "hiding behind an air-conditioner unit," the affidavit said.
After being apprehended, White Norris said that Lake was riding on the hood because her car was full of clothing.
White Norris also said that she didn't know it was illegal to drive with a passenger on the hood.
She is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $5,000 bond. She faces charges of resisting law enforcement -- D felony, and criminal recklessness -- A misdemeanor.
When you have a closet on wheels, and time on your hands...you can do anything. Until the police see your arse doin' that stupid ^#%! . OMG. I'll stop here.
perhaps they were just getting a ride to their car?
Hey, it could happen!
All passengers inside of a vehicle must wear their seatbelt. Yet it is okay to let someone ride around on the hood. Alrighty then.
