Porter, Hancock exchange vows

Jennifer Ann Porter and Luke Andrew Hancock exchanged their wedding vows Dec. 1, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Sandborn.

The Rev. Larry Martin of French Lick officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Carla Porter of Switz City. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Carolyn Thompson of Switz City, and Delores Sweeny of Bloomfield.

The groom is the son of Larry and Linda Hancock of Sandborn. He is the grandson of Ruth Shanks and Leona Hancock both of Sandborn. He is the nephew of Sonja Crawford, also of Sandborn.

The bride wore a floor length white gown. The gown was trimmed in lace and featured a long train also trimmed in lace. The bride carried bouquet of white Casablanca lilies and white roses. The bride's old was a six pence that her mother carried on her wedding day, and she wore a blue snowflake pin that was a gift from the groom's mother. She also wore a special bracelet, a gift from her father.

The bride's attendants wore navy satin floor length gowns and carried white Casablanca lilies. Stacia Myers, friend of the bride served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Porter, sister-in-law of the bride, Kyla Wilson, cousin of the bride, and Heather Chesnut, cousin of the bride.

The groom and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos with white boutonnieres. Jeremiah Wilson, friend of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Sanders, friend of the groom, Ross Dinkens, friend of the groom, and Nick Trabant, friend of the groom.

Bailee Chesnut, cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl. She wore a white layered dress with blue trim and carried a white silk basket with silk blue snowflake petals.

Additional members of the wedding party included: Ushers -- Charles Porter, brother of the bride and Tim Kirk, brother-in-law of the groom. Guestbook attendants -- Ginger Kirk, sister of the groom, Michelle Itzcak, friend of the bride, Pheana Shipley, friend of the bride. Pianist -- Alice Anderson.

A winter wonderland dinner reception and dance was held at the Sandborn Community Building. The wedding cake was created by the groom's mother. It was a beautiful four-tiered cake featuring a blue fountain. It was adorned with snowflakes and blue and silver ornaments.

The couple honeymooned in Sedona, Az. They now reside in Sandborn.

The new Mrs. Hancock is a loan processor at the Bloomfield State Bank, Bloomfield.

The groom works on his family farm in Sandborn.
