A Linton-Stockton High School senior will be a part of the Indiana State University Sycamore cheer team in the fall.

Brittany Kuehn, daughter of Becky and Tim Kuehn, made the cut for the squad after trying out Sunday.

"We had practice Saturday night and tried out all day Sunday," Kuehn explained.

Cheerleading is her passion.

"That's my favorite thing in the world. It's pretty much all I do," she explained. "I've cheered since the seventh grade and I've done All-Stars since freshman year."

But she got her start cheering as a youngster.

"My mom put me in Cody Cadets when I was 3 and 4 and I did gymnastics since I was 3," she explained.

But trying out for the squad against 15 other incoming freshman was a bit nerve-wracking.

"I was nervous but not too nervous. I knew the coach," Kuehn said.

Kuehn will attend ISU in the fall where she will major in elementary education.

"I'm really excited (about making the squad) and I'm really excited to get to go to Nationals in Daytona, Fla., in April next year," she said.
