Good luck to the Eastern Greene Middle School students who will compete at the 2008 National School Scrabble Championship in Providence, R.I., this weekend.

Besides competing, the seven students will experience a reality beyond Greene County.

I was able to meet some of the students during the traditional larger-than-life Scrabble game at the school on Wednesday. And I'm here to say wordsmiths have nothing on these kids. They are whip-smart, polite and confident.

So watch out teams at the Nationals because Eastern Greene will surely leave a lasting impression on the annual event.
