The last two years the Bloomfield club has awarded more than $23,000 in college scholarships to local graduates.
On May 19, the club will host its annual Scholarship Dinner, which also recognizes the top 10 students academically in each of the four upper grade classes at Bloomfield Junior-Senior High School, and will hand out $13,500 in scholarships, according to Bloomfield Rotary Club President Sandra Mead.
The 6:30 p.m. dinner will be at the Bloomfield Junior-Senior High School cafeteria.
Among the scholarships to be awarded include: The Bryan G. Martin Scholarship, The Jim Todd Memorial Scholarship, The Orville B. Hunter Scholarship, the Shelia Jerrells Music Award, the Leland and Stanley Barkley Memorial Scholarship, the Richard Richeson Tribute Scholarship, The Rotary Club Scholarship, two Cardinal Scholar Awards.
Meade said the Rotary Club also joins with Bloomfield Manufacturing Company to present several Harrah Family Scholarships each year.
A new scholarship will also be awarded this year -- the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce Harvey Hannah Scholarship.
