According to a Linton Police Department accident report, at 7:32 a.m. on-duty Animal Control Officer Chuck Botsford, 65, the driver of a city-owned 2004 Ram truck, was southbound on NW Second Street when he pulled into the path of a 1998 Dodge Stratus, driven by Danny Carpenter, 50, of Linton.
Carpenter's vehicle was eastbound on "A" Street NW when Botsford pulled into its path striking its passenger side and causing heavy front-end damage.
The accident also caused rear-end damage to the 2004 Ram truck -- owned by the city.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and no injuries were reported. The airbag in the Dodge Stratus, driven by Carpenter, did not deploy upon impact and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Linton Patrol Officer Karl Jacobshagen worked the accident.
