She was born in Sullivan County on April 19, 1911, the daughter of Aaron Blakeman and Clara Chambers Blakeman.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Dugger, and attended Oak Hill Church of Christ in Evansville, a member of the Triple T Home EC Club, and the Past President Club in Sullivan County. She retired from Central Supply at the old Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan.
Survivors include: three daughters, Judy Wauford and husband T.R. of Fayetteville, NC, Sharon McDowell and husband Luther of Fayetteville, NC., Myra Exline and husband Paul of Wadesville, and three step-sisters, Eva Clay, Esta Shephard, and Fern Clayton; four grandchildren, Douglas Cleveland, Debra DeMello and husband David, Steven Shorter and wife Patty, and J.R. Exline and wife Courtnee, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lex R. Bedwell in 1978; one son, Brian Bedwell; two brothers; Paul Blakeman, and Leon Blakeman, a half-brother, Elston Blakeman; one sister Opal Blakeman; two step sisters, Geneva Blume and Violet Blume; and two step-brothers, Russell Walters and Garland Walters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with Bro. J.B. Smith and Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in the Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
