Channing M. "Chink" Vosloh, 89, of Bloomfield passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday April 17, 2008 at The Waters in Martinsville.
Born May 30, 1918 in Bloomfield, he was the son of William R and Verna (Parker) Vosloh.
He was a 1936 graduate of Bloomfield High School and graduated from Butler University in 1940 with his Bachelors Degree. He received his Masters from Indiana University. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he taught social studies and was a coach at Scotland, Marco and Switz City schools. He is also a former principal at Midland, Shakamak and Eastern schools. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post No. 196, and the Elks Club.
Surviving relatives include: his daughter, Channa Beth Butcher & husband Steve of Martinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rowena Esther Vosloh on November 29, 2000 and four brothers.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and after 1 p.m. Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
A Celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Monday. at the funeral home with Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield with Military Graveside services by American Legion Post No. 196.
