Gary Cross, 53, of Lyons, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born in Linton, April 12, 1954 to Joseph Cross and Nada Cochran Cross.

He was a Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post No. 479 in Lyons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Joseph Cross.

Survivors include: his wife, Janice Collins Cross of Lyons, one son; Gary Cross of Linton, four daughters; Jamie Gaspar of Hammond, Tracy Cross of Linton, Jessie Montgomery of Linton, and Sherry Cross of Switz City, one sister; Cheryl McBride of Linton, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Newkirk's Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Orman officiating. Burial in the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside rites by the Lyons American Legion. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and before services Friday.
