Sheriff's Department kept busy with deer-vehicle accidents

In less than an hour, Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Terry L. Wade was called to the scene of two accidents involving deer early Tuesday morning.

Deputy Christopher P. McDonald was called to another one early Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday about 3:30 a.m., Shawn Clark of Jasonville was eastbound on S.R. 48 in a 1996 Chevy Cavalier when two deer ran out in front of him. He hit the deer as he was approaching C.R. 1100 W. about 1.5 miles east of Jasonville. The accident caused property damage but Clark was not injured.

The Worthington Police Department assisted at the scene.

At 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Jane Robbins of Bruceville was northbound on State Road 59 near County Road 400 South. A deer entered the roadway in front of her 2002 Chrysler Sebring and the vehicle hit the deer causing property damage but no injuries.

At 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, another deer caused an accident in front of the Phil Harris Golf Course.

John Holcomb of Bloomington was eastbound on S.R. 54 near C.R. 950 W. in a 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up truck when a deer entered the roadway in his path. Upon impact with the deer, both airbags deployed. The accident caused property damage but no injuries.

The Linton Police Department assisted on the scene.
