A 23-year-old Bloomfield man was arrested Tuesday morning in the parking lot of the Linton Shopping Center after allegedly violating a restraining order.

According to a press release from the Greene County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 9:24 a.m., Deputy Terry Wade observed Christopher E. Maynard as a passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer being operated by Jenny Butler.

Knowing that there was an active "No Contact" order in place restraining Maynard from having any contact with Butler, Wade confirmed the order was still in force before approaching the vehicle. The order was issued through Greene Circuit Court.

With assistance from off-duty Bloomfield Town Marshal Kenneth Tharp, Wade arrested Maynard on a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy.

Maynard was transported to the Greene County Jail where he is being held without bond.
