Cub Scout Pack 468 Fundraiser
Bloomfield Cub Scout Pack 468 will have its annual Buddy Bake at 7 p.m. on March 31 at First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. The Buddy Bake is an annual fundraiser for Pack 468. Scouts, with the help of an adult Buddy, will bake a variety of goodies that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The public is welcome. Vote early in April
Early voting will be available at the Linton National Guard Armory and Center Township Fire Department in April. The voting in Linton will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 12, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center Township Fire Department on April 19. Anyone who is registered may vote during this time. Please provide government issued picture ID when you come to the polling site. For more information call 384-2015.
Basket bingo
The Linton Boys Baseball Youth League will host a basket bingo March 31 at the Roy Clark Community Building. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Concessions will be available. Eastern School Board of Trustees
The Eastern Greene School Board of Trustees will meet in executive session at 11 a.m. on April 2. The executive session will be followed by a work session at 1 p.m. The board will hold a second executive session at 3 p.m. Both executive sessions will be at the central office and the work session will be held in room 241 at the Eastern Greene High School.

Greene County Human Society
The Greene County Humane Society is changing the location of its regular monthly meetings to the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds, beginning with the April 15 meeting. The meetings will continue to be on the third Tuesday of each month, with executive sessions beginning at 6 p.m. and members meeting at 7 p.m. The only exception will be in July, when the fairgrounds is not available. The July meeting will be at Pizza City in Linton.
Book sale scheduled
Under the sponsorship of The Friends of the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library, teen volunteers will host a book sale March 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the library's community room, 125 S. Franklin Street, Bloomfield. All proceeds from the sale will be used to improve the Teen Room at the library. There will be a large selection of fiction and non-fiction for children and adults. Jigsaw puzzles, magazines and VCR tapes will also be for sale. Most paperback books are 25 cents, and most hardbacks 50 cents. Some premium and collectible books are priced slightly higher. LSHS Class of 1988
The Linton-Stockton High School Class of 1988 is currently making preparations for its upcoming 20-year class reunion. Invitations will be mailed sometime in April, however help is still needed to update the classmate contact list. Supporting Heroes fundraiser
An all-you-can-eat fundraiser benefiting Supporting Heroes will be from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on March 30 at the Lewis Township Fire Department in Coalmont. On the menu is spaghetti, salad, desserts and drinks. Adult tickets are $6. Tickets for children under 10 are $3.

The seventh annual basket and tool bingo will be held April 11 at the Lyons Community Building. In Honor of MLK, Jr.
The public is invited to an event honoring The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy of peacemaking on April 6 from 3 - 5 p.m. at the Ivy Tech Community College cafeteria in Bloomington, marking the 40th anniversary of Dr. King's assassination. This event, titled "A Time to Break Silence: Clergy and Laity Concerned about Afghanistan and Iraq," will center on a speech Dr. King delivered at New York City's Riverside Church one year before his death in 1968. An audio segment of Dr. King's speech will be played at this event. Local clergy and professors will respond to Dr. King's message, which is prophetically relevant for our time. An opportunity for table discussions and the formation of small, ongoing forums inspired by Dr. King's vision will complete this event. Memory Makers Quilt Guild
The Memory Makers Quilt Guild of Greene County will meet in the community room of the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Library on March 27 at 6 p.m. The library is located at 125 S. WRV kindergarten pre-enrollment
Kurt Lentz, Lyons Elementary School, and Kevin Keller Worthington Elementary School, announce kindergarten pre-enrollment for the 2008-09 school year will be at the respective schools in Worthington and Lyons on April 11. Worthington pre-enrollment will be alphabetically by last name on the day of enrollment. -- 1 p.m., last name beginning with "A" through "M" and 2 p.m., last name beginning with "N" through "Z." Lyons pre-enrollment will be anytime between noon and 2 p.m. on the day of enrollment.
Raffle for hand-hooked rug
The Newberry Progressive Club is selling raffle tickets for a hand-hooked rug. The rug -- on display at the Bloomfield State Bank Newberry Branch -- was designed by Janice Spaulding and hand-hooked by Marilyn Stewart and Jan Cabel. Tickets are $1 each or 10 for $5. Tickets can be purchased at the BSB Newberry Branch or from any Progressive Club member. The drawing will be May 3. Proceeds will be used to benefit the Newberry community.
Peavey Cemetery
The Peavey Cemetery Board will begin spring cleanup on April 1. The board is requesting the removal of winter decorations/wreaths (which interfere with mowing) prior to April 1. Memorial Day decorations that interfere with mowing should be removed by June 15.
