In the course of less than two weeks, he was arrested, posted bond, had additional charges filed by the Greene County Prosecutor's office and then last Thursday he was arrested again.
Hayes now has two cases pending in Greene Superior Court, both in connection with incidents which began the evening of Friday, March 14.
Charges in the first case were filed against Hayes on Monday, March 17 following his first arrest on Saturday, March 16.
They include three misdemeanors -- battery resulting in bodily injury, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.
According to a probable cause affidavit written for this case by Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Skyler Pittman, on that Friday evening Pittman and another officer were dispatched to a residence on Rural Route 7 in the Bloomfield area in reference to a physical altercation between two males.
A man at the residence told the officers he had returned home to find Hayes at his residence - upset, angry and making threats. After a conversation began, the resident said Hayes attacked him, punched him in the head with a fist and threw him through a glass storm door.
After the storm door broke, the resident said he picked up a hammer, ordered Hayes off his property and Hayes then left. The affidavit states that officers did observe signs of battery on the resident and they talked to a witness.
Hayes posted bond on Sunday, March 16 - on the preliminary charges which were filed in the first case.
The second case was filed March 18.
On Thursday, Hayes was arrested and returned to jail - on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor; and public intoxication, a class B misdemeanor.
Another probable cause affidavit, filed in the second case, details the events that happened later that evening which resulted in the first arrest. Bloomfield Police Department Deputy Marshal James B. Deckard wrote that he had responded to a report of an intoxicated male who was vomiting outside on West Mill St. in Bloomfield.
When Deckard arrived along with Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Skyler Pittman and BPD Reserve Officer Jordan Hasler, they found Hayes staggering and looking disoriented. During the course of conversation, Deckard wrote that he saw two syringes in Hayes's jacket pocket.
Hayes was placed under arrest for public intoxication. Other items in his possession included a glass smoking device and a scale. A test performed at the jail on burnt residue on the inside of the glass smoking device was positive for methamphetamine.
Hayes remains in the Greene County Jail where he is being held without bond.
