Teen driving stolen vehicle dies in Sullivan crash following chase

SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) -- Indiana State Police say a 15-year-old boy was killed when the stolen van he was driving crashed in western Indiana following a police chase.

The driver was Landon Jay Dunn of Oaktown. He was alone in the van.

A state trooper and an Indiana conservation officer were chasing the white 1995 GMC van on U.S. 41 about 20 miles south of Terre Haute shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.

With the van traveling at speeds up to 80 mph, officers broke off the chase. Moments later, the van crashed into a cement fixture at an intersection in Sullivan.

Police said the van was stolen in Carlisle.
