According to the probable cause affidavit filed in Greene Superior Court Monday, Deputy Marshal Harvey Holt and Reserve Officer Jordan Hasler were on routine patrol when they observed a yellow Ford Mustang perform a U-turn without using a turn signal while traveling westbound on State Road 54. The vehicle then turned onto South Park Lane without using a turn signal. The officers then initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle stopped between the baseball field and the Bloomfield Park.
Officers reported the driver was acting suspiciously and overly nervous. Upon questioning, the driver and a passenger started to pull items out of their pockets and Hulett pulled out more than one clear plastic bag containing pills.
In an interview at the Sheriff's office, Hullet told officers he had purchased the pills in town for $400 earlier in the day.
A check of the pills and their markings revealed a total of 86 hydrocodone pills, a schedule III controlled substance.
Possession of a controlled substance is a class D felony. Hulett was being held without bond pending an initial court hearing.
I am Dylan's Aunt and although I believe some punishment is in order, he is a kid with no other arrests or legal problems and because of a very serious car accident that left him nearly paralyzed, I think other areas need to be checked. Is he dependent on the same drug he was given so freely for his pain? Maybe rehab is what is needed. And I agree, go after the distributor. Just don't judge that Dylan is a bad kid and needs to be locked away just because of this horrible lack of judgement.
Let's hope they get the distributor of these illegal drugs also. I hope he sings like a canary.
Don't plea bargin! You've got him! Send a message that this stuff won't be tolerated in Greene County!
