Kenneth Price, Jr., 48, Bedford was booked into jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a .12 blood-alcohol content.
Johnathan Cory Johnson, 19, Springville, was booked into jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a .16 blood-alcohol content.
Price lost control of his 1981 Ford F-150 pick-up truck on State Road 54 at 2:53 a.m. last Friday when he hit sand and turned onto County Road 325 South at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ended up in a ditch causing property damage.
Charges filed Monday against Price in Greene Superior Court include operating a vehicle while intoxicated in a manner which endangered a person, a class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15 grams of alcohol in blood or breath.
Johnson's accident happened at 4:49 a.m. on Saturday on State Road 54 near S.R. 445. He was taking off from a stop in a 2001 Ford F-150 pick-up truck, pulling onto S.R. 54.
When he took off at a high rate of speed, he lost control and the truck struck a telephone pole and an electric pole guide wire.
Charges filed Monday against Johnson in Greene Superior Court include operating a vehicle while intoxicated in a manner which endangered a person, a class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of .15 grams or more of alcohol in blood or breath, a class A misdemeanor.
Both men were released from jail on $4,000 bond and both are scheduled to appear in court for initial hearings on Friday.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Inman was the investigating officer on both accidents. Other personnel who assisted on the scenes included other deputies and officers from the Bloomfield Police Department.
