He was born August 17, 1920 in Edwardsport, to Roscoe and Daisy (Everett) Lawhead.
He was retired from the North Knox School Corp. as a janitor with 20 years service and formerly was a coal miner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandborn, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge, and Worthington Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (White) Lawhead, Worthington; three children, Barry (Sylvia) Lawhead, Elnora; Randy (Marilou) Lawhead, Linton; Jeri Dee Lawhead, Lafayette; three step-children, Judy Oran, Dale; Kim Watson; Worthington; Bobbi Harper, Worthington; one sister, Burtrice Pepmier, Bicknell; five granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Barbara Jean (Lind) Lawhead in 1987; one daughter, Sherri Lawhead; a brother and sister.
Service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 1 p.m., Saturday,
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery.
