Born May 19, 1940 in Greene County, he was the son of Herschel and Iva Grace (Arthur) Hamlin.
A carpenter by trade, he operated his own business and also farmed.
Survivors include: his wife, Janice (Johnson) Hamlin of Worthington; one daughter, Cami (James) Bredeweg of Lyons; two sisters-in-law, Glenda (Jim) Bruce of Pittsboro and Susan (Doc) Herndon of Jasonville; one brother-in-law, Paul "Mick" (Devonna) Johnson of Midland; nine nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great nephews; three cousins, Earlene (Arkie) Vandeventer of Worthington, Joyce Shepherd of Bedford and Lois Duke of Mooresville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A public graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Worthington Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Welch & Cornet Funeral Home in Worthington.
