LeRoy Koontz, Sr.

LeRoy Koontz, Sr., 59, of Bloomington, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2008 at his residence.

Born July 23, 1948 in Fresno, CA, he was the son of Harold and Alma Schindler Koontz.

He was a member of the Bethel Christian Church in Springville, AmVets of Bloomington, American Legion of Bloomington and the VFW Post in Bloomington.

Survivors include: his wife, Francis Kay Koontz of Bloomington; mother, Alma Koontz, of Fresno, CA; three sons, LeRoy Koontz, Jr., James Ray Koontz and Jeffrey Scott Koontz - all of Bloomfield; stepchildren, Shiela Kay Chinn, of Bloomington; Warren Bradley Chinn, Jacksonville, NC, and Scott Edward Chinn of Freedom; a brother, Richard Koontz, of Hanford CA; a sister Judy Koontz, of Bloomington; and 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at AmVets with Chaplain Duckworth officiating. Burial will be in Dishman Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Feb. 19.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chandler Funeral Home of Ellettsville.
