Charles R. "Pete" Cassida, 83, of Linton, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at the Glenburn Home in Linton.

He was born on May 9, 1924, the son of Carl and Ada Cassida. He was a graduate of Patricksburg High School. He owned and operated C & C Gift Shop and the Linton Drive-In for several years. He enjoyed leather crafting and Indian jewelry.

Survivors include his son, Mike Cassida and wife, Alisha, of Linton; a sister, Mary Dubois of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Michael Brent, Caleb J. and Michelle A. Cassida; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylisa and Kylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara (Richardson) Cassida.

Funeral service will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
