Born Sept. 10, 1916 in Coalmont, he was the son of Oscar and Ethyl Bessie (Clark) Barnhart.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver for National By-Products of Indianapolis.
Survivors include: five daughters, Shireley Grieser of Pekin, IL, Charolotte (Leroy) Hubbard of Fillmore, Janet Sedam of Greenwood, Judith Benson of Indianapolis and Dolly (Merrill) of Indianapolis; a sister, Elsie Smith of Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie May Barnhart, who died March 3, 2001; his parents; a granddaughter, Nancy Schoonover; great-grandson, Michael Schoonover, Jr.; and a sister, Georgia Esther Ramirez.
Friends may call at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Eddie Smalling officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
