He was born June 6, 1930 in Indianapolis to John R and Myrtle (Dove) Hunter.
He was an Army Veteran serving in Germany. He was a machinist at Central Supply in Indianapolis for more than 30 years and was a member at Garrard Chapel where he was involved in the Labor of Christ and church board.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara (Pruett) Hunter; sons, John Hunter and Timothy (Brandy) Hunter, both of Poland; four daughters, Dianna (Bill) Deckard of Spencer, Sharon (John) Dunn of Ellsberry, MO, Debbie Brumfield of Unionville, and Lisa (Jim) Hoskins of Terre Haute; three sisters, Coleta Slough of Linton, Rozella VanDeventer of Florida, and Bonnie Wood of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; as well as nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorma Sims; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday,at Garrard Chapel with Pastor Gerald Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Moore's Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer and from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
