George L. Dowden Jr. 54, of Indianapolis, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at his residence.

Born April 28, 1953 in Linton, he was the son of George L. Sr. and Betty J. (Shonk) Dowden.

He was a self-employed mechanic.

Surviving relatives include: his children, Hope Dowden of Indianapolis, Brittany Dowden of Lebanon, Brenda Dowden, and George Dowden III, both of Tucson, AZ; his mother, Betty J. (Shonk) Dowden of Indianapolis; one brother, Garry Dowden of Thorntown; one sister, Anita Wilkerson of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Scott, Katelynn, and Mariah.

He was preceded in death by his father, George L. Dowden Sr. in 1978.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in Scotland Cemetery.
