Taylors to celebrate 50 years of marriage

The children of Albert and Mayme Taylor, Greg Taylor of Hymera, Mark Taylor and Rob Taylor of Linton, and Becky Phillips of Switz City, invite all family and friends to an open house in celebration of their parents 50th anniversary.

Al and Mayme (Ward) were married Nov. 28 in a small ceremony with a few family and friends on Thanksgiving Day 1957. The couple will renew their marriage vows with Pastor John Monroe, former pastor of Otterbein United Methodist Church, officiating.

Bridesmaid Betty (Brown) Sluder, and best man Danny Houk will again have their places of honor.

Al and Mayme have five grandchildren. Jamie Mathis of Roanoke, Va., Amy Taylor of Denver, Col., AJ Phillips of Little Rock AFB, Ark., Sara Phillips of Switz City, and Blake Taylor of Linton.

The couple has three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Sampson and Shyann Mathis all of Virginia.

The celebration will be at the Girl Scout Cabin in Linton's Humphreys Park on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. The couple has requested no gifts, but cards would be welcomed.
