Born Feb. 27, 1941, in Monroe County, he was the son of Willard and Mary M. (Sherfield) Shipley.
She was a retired mechanic and gunsmith and was a member of Ellettsville Eagles Aerie.
Survivors include his wife, Becky (Goodmon) Shipley; two daughters, B.K. Shipley of Bloomington, and Melissa Hall, of Newberry; two sons, Robert Shipley and Kevin Shipley, both of Bloomfield; three step-sons, Chuck Wiley of Whitehall, John Wiley of Bloomington, and Steven Wiley of Bedford; eleven grandchildren, Nick, Justin, Zachary, Dustin, Jessica, Joseph, Bradley, Hannah, Charles, Ailish and Hailey; three brothers, Clyde Shipley of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Shipley of Bloomfield, and Fred Shipley of Stanford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Shipley and Christy Shipley; and one granddaughter, Dawnette Shipley.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel in Bloomington with Pastor Jim Severne officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial bike ride will be held immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Center in the care of the mortuary.
