Myrtle J. Bland, 90, of Solsberry, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born October 26, 1917 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Homer & Alverta (Flake) Abrams.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Pentecoastal Church in Bloomfield.

Surviving realtives include: two sons, Gilbert Allen Bland and Raymond Bland Jr., both of Solsberry; five sisters, Dorothy Newman of Solsberry, Anna Goad of Norman, OK.; Maxine Todd of Bedford, Esther Norris of Bloomfield and Dona Marie Smith of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Bland on Feb. 24, 1977; her parents; two sisters; one brother, one half sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday October 31, 2007 and noon until the hour of service on Thursday at Jenkins Fuenral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Brother Carl Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Solsberry Cemetery in Solsberry.
