James Willoughby, 70, of Carlisle, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Thursday Oct. 25, 2007 at his residence.

He was born in Brown County on Dec. 12, 1936 to Richard L. Willoughby and Jessie Powell Willoughby.

He was an Army veteran and retired from Fairmont Glass House in Indianapolis.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard Willoughby of Odon, John Willoughby of Carlisle; five daughters; JoAnn Starker , Linda Mothershed, Lois Nance all of Florida, Vicki Stanley, and Jessie Willoughby both of Indianapolis, two brothers; Delmar Willoughby of Indianapolis, and Keith Willoughby of Sullivan, 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Una West Willoughby in 2004, also one son James Darrel Willoughby, and one sister; Rosella Linder.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with family officiating. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday and before services Monday at the funeral home.
