Ronald J. Beck, 55, of Lyons and formally of Montgomery, passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born March 9, 1952 in Linton, he was the son of Caroldon and Sharlene (Edwards) Abbott

He was a heavy equipment and shovel operator for the coal mine. He attended the Lyons Church of Christ.

Surviving relatives include: three brothers: Randy Beck of Newburgh; Tim Abbott of Lyons; and Dennis Abbott of Lafayette; three sisters: Lori Sargent of Sandborn; Karla Orender of Washington; and Darla Paggett of Lyons; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sharlene (Edwards) Abbott; his grandparents Lex and Annabel Edwards; and his step-grandparents Bernard and Martha Abbott

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday October 23, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons.

Friends may call from noon until the hour of serve on Friday at the funeral home.
