Doris (Ermajean) Byrer Bechtel, 77, of Elnora, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at Hillside Manor in Washington.

Born Nov. 18, 1929 in Vigo County, she was the daughter of Rollie and Jessie M. Walls Bechtel.

She worked at General Electric for 25 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Elnora Methodist Church, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxillary and Rebekas.

Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Bechtel of Washington and Daniel Bechtel of Elnora; a daughter, Brenda Craig of Sullivan; a brother, Jon Byrer of Elnora; and a sister, Mary Rose Souder, of Elnora; 12 grandchildren; adn seven great-grandchidren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Bechtel; a brother, Robert Byrer; sisters, Lois Earles, Sally Edmondson and Betty Nalker; and grand child Kelly Hasler.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Poindexter Hall McClure Funeral Home in Odon with Brother Robert Frields officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and until the time of service on Friday. Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Star will conduct a service, followed at 7 p.m. by an American Legion Auxillary memorial service.
