Born Feb. 25, 1918 in Coalmont, he was the son of Nathan Sylvester and Sylvia (Burger) Bedwell.
He did carpentry work at Fort Harrison Products in Terre Haute.
Survivors include: his wife, Alta M. Nixon Bedwell of Jasonville, whom he married on Oct. 27, 1947; daughters and sons-in-law, Leona and David White of Dalzell, SC and Evelyn Nadine and Steven Keown of Linton; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale E. Bedwell, and Stanley Neal and Shelly Bedwell of Coalmont; six grandchildren, Katana White, Erin White, Brandon Bell, Merissa Keown, Dorinda Bedwell and Joshua Bedwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Edith Pine, Bessie Sparks, Ila Alice Bedwell; four brothers, Earl Bedwell, Eugene Bedwell, James Bedwell and Robert D. Bedwell; a son, Leon Bedwell; and infant son, Harry Leon Bedwell, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
