He was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Linton, the son of Harvey Miller, Sr. and Pearl Mae (Best) Miller.
He worked in auto sales, was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of VFW Post No. 7118 and American Legion Post No. 22, both of Linton. He graduated from Seminary in Tennessee. He & his family were avid musicians; his band was Roy & the Royals.
Survivors include: two sons, Stephen Lee Miller and his wife, Cheryl, of Phoenix, AZ and Roy L. "Rick" Miller and his wife, Tina, of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Dana Rene Miller-Hall and her husband, Jim, of Princeton and Lisa Michelle Miller-Cochran of Bolivar, OH; eight grandchildren, Jim, Stevie, Jeremy, Jared, Jamie, Justin, Chase, Brandy (Josh); two great-grandchildren, Lilly Vincent and Tyler Bell, and a nephew, Tim Cunningham and his wife, Pam, of Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Behrman) Miller on Feb. 25, 2006; his parents; one brother, Harvey Miller, Jr.; four sisters, Grace McCain, Bonnie Jones, Mildred Miller and Virginia June Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, with Genevieve McGuire and Bryan Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, south of Linton.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. Thursday until the hour of the service.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 22 and VFW Post 7118.
