Frank R. Hawkins, 83, of Elizabethtown, Ky., and formerly of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Extendicare Health Facility in Elizabethtown, Ky.

Born Jan. 23, 1920, in Jasonville, he was the son of Charles M. and Eva (VanMeter) Hawkins. He was retired from the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Lawrence Russell; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Sara and Matthew; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann Gainey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Archer Hawkins; his parents; and two brothers, Van and Charles, Jr.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
