Born in Sullivan County on Oct. 21, 1926, she was the daughter of Russel and Toka Moore Clayton.
She was a member of the Shiloh Church of Christ, and owned and operated Mary's Country Store in Dugger since 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Susy Pirtle and her husband, Billy, of Dugger; a sister-in-law, Rose Clayton of Dugger; a best friend, Marcus Bartley; two grandchildren, Mark Pirtle and wife Belinda of Dugger, and Marni Pigg and friend Todd Yung of Dugger; and four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William H. Clayton and Jimmy D. Clayton.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Nick Moore officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday and before the service Monday at the funeral home.
