Born in Greene County on Sept. 27, 1933, she was the daughter of Jesse R. and Helen L. Lehman Goodman. She was a 1951 graduate of Pleasantville High School.
She retired in 1991 from Delco Remy after 36 years of service.
She was a member of the Delco Remy Family Campers of Anderson; UAW Local 662; United Senior Action of Anderson; and GM Delphi Campers of Kokomo.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Swaby of Daleville; three daughters, Mrs. Mark (Jeanne) Pickett of Middletown, Mrs. John (Debra) West of Daleville and Mrs. Charles (Linda) Hedrick Jr. of Chesterfield; two brothers, Wayne (Donna) Goodman of Dugger and Norman Goodman of Pleasantville; 10 grandchildren: Autumn and Jeff McCoy of Middletown, Jeremy (Wendy) Dennis of Anderson, Franklin (Heather) Platt of Jacksonville, Fla., Rebecca (Nate) Wattenbarger of Middletown; Amanda Swaby of Middletown; special friend Dale Jordan; Trey and Heather Hedrick of Indianapolis and Dale Jordan of Middletown; four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse in 1988 and Helen in 1996.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 S. Walnut St. in Daleville, with the Rev. Jack Warren officiating. Burial will be in Saunders Cemetery in Daleville.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today.
