Mary Elizabeth Eaton, 71, of New Albany passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

She was born in Linton on Aug. 19, 1932, to John and Agnes Glenn Blume.

She was a member of Edenside Christian Church and had worked for Highland Italian Restaurant and Kaelins Restaurant.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Lee Blume and his wife, Anne; a sister, Margaret Fox and her husband, Richard of Phoenix, Az.; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Carman and her husband, William T. "Tom" Carman Jr. of Crestwood; grandchildren, John and Rebecca Blume; a great-granddaughter, Destiny Blume; her dearest friend, Robin Schwartz and her family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron G. Eaton, in 1985.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. Visititation is from 5-9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
