BLOOMFIELD ---- Marie Holtsclaw, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away on Jan. 5, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. in her residence.

Born Sept. 16, 1917, in Solsberry, she was the daughter of Mack and Lucy Thompson Burch.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Ridgeport Community Church.

Survivors include a son, Claude L. Holtsclaw of Bloomfield; two daughters, Margaret L. English of Bloomfield and Mary Ellen English of Bloomfield; two brothers, the Rev. Donald Burch of Bedford and Lowell Burch of Bloomfield; one sister, Naomi Price of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Holtsclaw on July 1, 1988; one infant brother, Eugene Burch; one brother, Gilbert Burch; and her parents.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Donald Burch officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
